C&G 2393-10 Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings
This one-day course (which includes the exam) may be taken whilst doing our in-house Level 2 Domestic Installer week, or may be a free-standing day.
This qualification is designed to enable practising electricians, or domestic installers, to gain an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings can affect the building construction.
It is based upon information given in the Electricians Guide to the Building Regulations (IET), and this book is allowed in the exam.
Course content
Describe the Building Regulations
State what work is Notifiable or not
Identify relevant Approved Documents
Describe how Building Regulations are enforced
Identify the role of Building Control Services
Identify methods of compliance with: Approved Documents A (Structure), B (Fire Safety), C (Resistance to moisture), E (Resistance to the passage of sound), F (Extraction), L1 (Conservation of fuel and power) and M (Access to, and use of, buildings)
The assessment is via an online, multiple-choice exam, lasting 40 minutes. This takes place at the end of the day with an instant result given.
